Surfed 3.1 - Ready for iOS 18 and New Features

Author
Matthias HühneI am excited to announce the release of Surfed 3.1.
With Surfed 3.1, we’re giving you more control over your browsing experience while also delivering stunning new visuals and better privacy features.
What's new in Surfed 3.1?
New in iOS 18: Dark and Tinted App Icons and Widgets
With iOS 18, you can now give your Surfed app a fresh look by customizing your app icons. Choose from dark icons for a sleeker, more muted style or tint the icon and widgets with your favorite color for a personal touch.
iOS 18 Control Center Actions
In iOS 18, Surfed takes advantage of the new Control Center Actions, giving you faster access to your most-used features. Here’s what you can do right from the Control Center:

- Open Search: Instantly launch Surfed’s search functionality with a tap.
- Open Favorite URL: Open your go-to website directly from the Control Center.
- Toggle Record History: Easily pause or resume your browser history recording without navigating away from what you're doing.
- Toggle Run Web Trigger: Pause or resume the execution of web triggers, giving you the flexibility to decide when certain actions should or shouldn't be performed during your browsing session.
Enhanced Privacy: Pause Browser History Recording
Taking control of your browsing privacy has never been easier. With Surfed 3.1, you can now pause browser history recording at any time. Simply toggle the feature in the app settings, browser extension, Focus Filter, Shortcuts or Control Center to ensure your history isn’t logged when you don’t want it to be.
Item Counter in List Titles
Whether you’re browsing through your history, organizing collections, or tagging items, you’ll now see how many items are in each list at a glance. A small change that makes managing your data far more intuitive!
Upgraded Browser Extension Features
We’ve supercharged the Surfed browser extension with several new tools to streamline your experience:
- New Settings Panel: Manage your preferences more easily with the new settings panel, which allows you to toggle browser history recording and manage web triggers directly from the extension.
- Cover View: Want some privacy or just a visually stunning start to your browsing session? Introducing the Cover View feature. This unique, animated mesh gradient covers your content, acting like a beautiful screen saver. Every time you open a new tab, the gradient changes. You can quickly start a new Surfed search or hide the cover to get back to your content. Perfect for those who value both style and privacy.
- Tag and Collection Access: You can now quickly access your tagged and collection items directly from the browser extension. Managing your tags is even more intuitive, with tags now being sorted by last use so that your most relevant tags are always at the top of your list.
